Confessions of a Shopaholic by Sophie Kinsella is not only a well know movie, but it also a whole book series. I started this series a couple weeks ago, while I was on vacation and couldn’t put it down! Confessions of a Shopaholic, the first in the series, follows the life of Rebecca Bloomwood, a financial journalist who is in major debt. You see the letters that multiple banks are sending her telling her how much she owes, and then you will see the bank send a promo to Rebecca. Rebecca is trying to figure out how she can avoid these people and how to make more money! She attempts to get a new job, but in her resume she put that she could speak Finnish, thinking who else would speak fluently Finnish. Well, one of the banks that were hiring, was the Bank of Helinski. Rebecca didn’t last long when meeting her future boss, because she couldn’t understand a word. Not only do you follow Rebecca trying to figure out how to pay off her debt, but she is also trying find lover.
Kinsella does a wonderful job portraying Rebecca as a financial reporter living in England. Even though I haven’t finished the book, I highly recommend it and then recommend you watching the movie.
